IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM

It has been almost two years since we remodeled our laundry room.
Our old washer and dryer set broke down on New Year's Eve 2010 withing two
hours of each other, no joke!!! So we found ourselves shopping for a new set
on New Years Day. Crazy!

At that time, we just threw all caution to the wind and decided to just
 upgrade the whole room.
I don't have a before picture.
( never thought of taking a picture of our old ugly laundry room)
But all we had in there was a ten year old washer and dryer set,
a builder's metal shelf over it and a plastic mop sink.
The rest on the room was empty.

We added a new washer and dryer set,top and bottom cabinets with
new hardware, installed a counter, utility sink and new faucet,
added shelving to the wall, new light fixture and decor items.

This was the fastest project we have ever done! LOL
The whole room was finished in about three days.

Since then, it has pretty much stayed the same.

Just recently I added some new little items, a cute picture on the
top shelf and a small jar from Dollar Tree with some clothes pins.

That is a picture of my "Angel" just being cute. :)

I also added to the top cabinet this pretty plate I found at HL.
It is part of their Fall collection for this year, so, it is official,
my first Fall decor item is up! LOL

The truth is that I haven't felt any need to do anything else to this space.
I am happy with the way it turned out from the beginning.
Now, I just wish I didn't have to spent a trillion hours in this room every week!!! LOL

I hope everyone is enjoying their week.
Mine has been full of chores, painting projects that I just can't seem to be able to finish and very early in the morning yard work. :(
So, I am very tired and ready for the weekend!

Thank you all for taking the time to visit.
Your comments always make my day!

CAFE CURTAINS

I hope everyone is having a good week!
As the triple digit temperatures continue in our area, I have been
trying to limit myself to just doing those indoor projects
that I have been wanting to finish for a while and, at the same time,
get all my Fall decor projects finished.

One of the projects I have been wanting to finish was
making cafe curtains for my kitchen.
I always loved this look but I wasn't completely sure of how to go about it
or what would look right.

I decided to pull the golden color of
my existing valances and found this pretty gold/mustard color fabric
on sale for $4.00 a yard, so, I figured I could not go wrong.

Here is my finished project.

You can't really see it in the pictures, but, although the valances and drapes
in my kitchen area are sage green, the valances have that golden color in the stripes.
Isn't the fabric pretty?

I also bought the rod and rings in black

I also added to the window an old pot I had with some sunflowers

And here is a little before and after

Total cost of project was $20.00 and, since I still have fabric left, I am working on
adding the same color to my breakfast area.
More to come on that.

What do you guys think?
I love how it made the kitchen feel warmer and, at the same time
I think this color is going to look nice when I start adding my Fall decor.

Like always, I thank you for taking the time to stop by.
It sure mean a lot to me!

Enjoy the rest of your week!
